Leave In Conditioner

Leave-in conditioner is important, however you should not ditch the conditioner that is recommended after a shampoo. You should use 1. Shampoo 2. Conditioner 3. Leave In Conditioner before styling your hair.

Trims

Trims are an asset. Trims allow you to spend less time applying heat and chemicals in an effort to make your hair do what it needs to do. Our best advice is to stop split ends before they start. Ask your stylist how often you should get your hair trimmed.

Swimming

Chlorine damages hair if not shampooed immediately after your swim sessions. Your hair should be shampooed and conditioned properly immediately after your swimming session.

The Right Shampoo

Please buy shampoos that are targeted to your hair type. Some people don’t realize that what your neighbors uses, is not necessarily meant for you.

To Eat or Not to Eat!

What you put in your body, shows through your hair. Drink plenty of water, EAT CLEAN and exercise regularly (it prevents stress), which will keep hair on your head.

Your hair grows about ¼ to ½ an inch every month and the foundation of ALL of our new hair, skin and nail growth are the nutrients that we eat. Be careful of dietary supplements often marketed to thicken or grow your hair faster. In some instances, excess of certain nutrients such as vitamin A, has been linked to hair loss.

Color Treatments:

Having chemically and/or color treated hair requires more maintenance in order for it stay healthy. Treatments are a MUST. Taking preventive measures definitely helps to prevent unnecessary splits ends and breakage. There are different Shampoos, Conditioners, and Treatments for specific textures of hair. Be sure to consult with your stylist on the best at home Shampoo(s), Conditioner(s), and Treatment(s) for your hair texture.

Heat!

Your hair should be completely dry before using a flat iron or curling iron (wands included). Make sure that you use a heat protection (also known as a thermal protectant) prior to any heat use. Remember excess heat causes critical damage.

It’s Cold Outside and My Hair is Dry

As the seasons change, so does your hair. This fact may have its worse effect in the cold of the winter months. Harsh weather means extra care – your hair will need the extra nourishment. When you schedule your hair appointment, please be sure to add extra conditioning services.
